Pathology of Paediatric Renal Tumours

Who should attend:

The course is designed primarily for paediatric pathologists involved in diagnosis and staging renal tumours of childhood and may also be of interest to paediatric oncologists, surgeons, other clinicians and scientists involved in the management and research of childhood renal tumours. Trainees including residents, fellows, and medical students may also find this course to be of educational value.

Learning objectives:

By the end of the symposium, participants will be able to
• Recognize and apply key histo-morphological criteria for the diagnosis of Wilms and non-Wilms paediatric renal tumours.
• Utilize appropriate immunohistochemical panels and understand their role in resolving challenging diagnostic scenarios.
• Appreciate the impact of molecular and genetic advances on tumour classification, risk stratification, and patient management.
• Identify and navigate diagnostic pitfalls and uncommon entities encountered in paediatric renal tumour pathology.
• Integrate pathological findings into multidisciplinary paediatric oncology care, enhancing diagnostic confidence and clinical relevance.

Important Note on Attendance
Please note:

  1. The in-person component of this symposium will take place at Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, Hanoi, and is a closed meeting exclusively for healthcare professionals (HCPs) based in Vietnam.
  2. The morning sessions before lunch will be conducted in a hybrid format (online and in person). Case presentations will be held in person only.

Medical professionals in Singapore may be eligible for CME/CNE/CPE credits for attending the live session, subject to approval (application pending). Credits and Certificates of Attendance will only be issued for those who are able to attend the live session and are in adherence with VIVA's Attendance Policy.
